Hello and Welcome!!! The climate is colder, snow is falling, holidays are arriving a which can only mean it's winter time of course! Now we are finally making a transition from Fall to Winter. Another thing that is changing is Makeup. Our skin changes during this cold climate and we must adapt to it in various ways, so I'm here to talk about the winter makeup trends happening all around.
First let's talk lip trends! Last year it was burgundy lip color, but this year the color to wear is a cranberry lip color. The focus of this season will be the lips and eyes so it is a good idea to wear a strong lip color. Cranberry right now has been the trendiest, but another good lip color I have seen on many models and people is plum. In my opinion, these two colors look gorgeous. I did notice though that people with a light color hair tend to wear more plum this season and darker color hair people are wearing cranberry most of the time. Of course it can change but I think it depends on how well the color matches your skin tone and hair color, so I recommend trying both and seeing what looks best one you since we are all different.
Next let's talk eye makeup. This is a weird one I saw at first and was a bit nervous about how it might look in real life. The trend has been double winged eyeliner. Basically you make a thin winged eye liner on your eye, but just a bit above you draw a slightly smaller one. It sounded really strange at first, but I decided to give it a go. It actually turned at pretty good. You just have to be careful not to go much over board with this look, but it can look really pretty and natural. It might not be an everyday look for you, but it is a fun thing to do once in a while to change your look and try something new. Especially now that holiday parties are just around the corner.
For the eyes, a copper eye shadow is trending as well. I think it is a natural but popping color that looks really natural. It makes a great combination with the red cranberry lip color which was a look I had tried before at event and turned out to be a great look on me. Another color I have seen trend is a light baby pink eyeshadow as well. It is usually concentrated near the eye liner line and then faded out as you go out wider into your eye lid.
Mascara is a must usually with eyeliner but because of this new eyeliner trend, it has less center of attention. It is best to wear t, but not make it too dramatic so it doesn't look too showy. Over all, when applying eyeliner and mascara, try to apply it more on the outer corners of your eyes and not add anything to the inner corners or bottom eye. Make it look cleaner in the middle of your face so it isn't all over the place.
On that note, making the center of your face is better and that is why the blush trend this winter is to apply blush on the cheek bones and not on your cheek near your nose, it makes the makeup look cleaner and natural. For this reason, since it's winter we must remember to stay hydrated. The look for the skin is too make it look dewy and moisturized. You can achieve this by trying out a dewy finish cc cream instead of a full coverage foundation. We all have dark spots, acne and dark circles, but we aren't always helping by caking up makeup. A cc cream has less coverage, but more skin care benefits that help us have healthy moisturized skin and because of how dry we get in this weather, it is better to have great skin. All the trends this winter tend to show the center of our face more and not cover us up in all the make up.
I hope I was ever to help and that you try at least one of these new trends. Tell me which ones you liked better and worked for you! Happy Holidays!
